About The Pender Post
Serving Pender Island Community for 54 years
The Pender Post is a cherished monthly community publication serving both residents and visitors of Pender Island, British Columbia. Published by The Pender Post Society, a non-profit organization managed by a volunteer board, it features articles from local clubs, groups, committees, non-profit societies, and volunteer members. The Pender Post plays a vital role in fostering communication, unity, and engagement within the Pender Island community. Since 1971, it has served as a trusted source for Pender Island news, local updates, and things to do on our unique island.

Pender Island Community News and Events
In addition to the monthly publication, available in both print and digital formats, The Pender Post maintains an online events calendar. This resource provides up-to-date information on Pender Island community events, including artistic and health workshops, music festivals, art crawls, fairs, farmers’ markets, and concerts. Whether you’re a resident or a visitor planning your stay, The Pender Post is the go-to source for Pender Island events and concerts.
Supporting Local Businesses and Volunteers
The Pender Post relies on contributions from community members and offers advertising opportunities for local businesses. This includes Pender Island real estate ads and business promotions, providing valuable insights for those considering relocating to Pender Island. We make it easy to discover various health practitioners, contractors, real estate offices, places to stay, and dinner menus from local restaurants on both North Pender and South Pender Islands. When space allows, we also accept advertising from small off-island businesses that serve Pender Island residents and homeowners.

Join Our Board
Help Us Connect Our Community
The Pender Post is managed by a non-profit society and a volunteer board. We are looking for new board members who are passionate about community engagement and local journalism.
Board members are our links with the community organizations we support and they help direct the content we publish. They also help promote our magazine at Farmer’s Markets and other events, help organize events (like all candidates meetings), and assist in developing and proofreading content. Our board meets once a month for about an hour and a half — and we always serve treats at our meetings!
Our Board of Directors
The Pender Post is published once a month as a non-profit service to the community. Those who buy an annual subscription and are residents here are automatically members of the Pender Post Society.
The board meets monthly and is composed of directors, representatives from the various non-profit clubs and societies, as well as general members. Reach out to us at community@penderpost.org or use the contact form below.
